May Day!

I’m so excited for May. Simply because it means things are growing, and I can entertain in my backyard again! My cancer fighting garden is 9 years old this year! This is all coming up on its own right now in the main garden. We also have the pepper garden that I am plating this weekend. Parker and Preston’s gardens are tilled up and ready too. So far, in the main garden,  we have spearmint, oregano, chocolate mint, kale, asparagus, garlic, horseradish, onions, chives, and tomatoes. All just coming back on their own. Plus, two potato towers. Parker’s garden will have corn, watermelons and cantaloupes. Preston will have Bibb lettuce, radicchio, carrots, and broccoli. They both chose what they wanted to grow. It’s been a long winter, and I couldn’t wait to start my seeds! I’ve started seedlings for banana peppers, cayenne, jalapeno, Zebra tomatoes, Black Mamba tomatoes (my fave), catnip (keeps bugs away and my cat loves it), cilantro, basil, rosemary, lemon grass, and squash. A lot of my herbs are going to be made into oils for my soaps. Which I plan to blog instructions about in the near future. I’m also making a couple of fruit vinegar’s that I am excited to try with my own oils!! But I am most excited about the lemongrass soap recipe I’ve concocted in my head, can’t wait!! I will of course post about it when I get it finished. My backyard is going to be where I live this summer since Shawn is building a platform deck out of recycled materials… for a pool!! Yay! I pays to wait until the end of the summer to get a pool for twenty bucks. I’m pretty easy to please. Happy May to you all!!   Thank you for reading, and for your support.
