Went to the farmers market at the River Market, and got huge portabella mushrooms. Then, they had some beautiful butter lettuce, and I realized what I was making for dinner when my dear friend Gina comes over! This is a very fun and interactive meal. Mushrooms are have wonderful tumor fighting properties!!
1 tbsp butter/bacon oil, or any oil
4 Portabella Mushrooms sliced
8 Shitake Mushrooms (optional)
1 Mitake Mushroom, cut off bottom and separate (optional)
1 Bunashimeji Mushroom, cut off bottom and separate (optional)
1 small red onion, quartered and sliced
2 cloves garlic
Fresh cracked pepper to taste
1 tbsp Tumari
2 heads Butter or Boston Lettuce
Fresh garnishes: peppers, cucumbers, carrots, chopped nuts, ect.
Saute mushrooms and onions for 3 – 4 min on medium heat. Add garlic, tumari, and pepper. And pull off heat.
Serve mushrooms on lettuce and add desired toppings and sauces. Its a little messy but delish!
